general training

Our general programs are designed for individuals who wish to learn about the life-saving techniques used with CPR and Automatic External Defibrillators. General Training classes are built directly around the needs of the training host. Below is a list of a modules that can be taught. We will work with you to determine which modules should be taught, how long the training will take, and which textbooks are most appropriate for the attendees.

The following topics are covered in this class:

  • MODULE A

    • CPR for adults

    • Relief of a foreign-body airway obstruction for an adult

    • Automatic External Defibrillator for an adult

  • MODULE B

    • CPR for children

    • Relief of a foreign-body airway obstruction for a child

    • Automatic External Defibrillator for a child

  • MODULE C

    • CPR for infants

    • Relief of a foreign-body airway obstruction for an infant

  • MODULE D

    • First Aid for adults, children, and infants

  • MODULE E

    • Warning signs of heart attack and choking

    • How to live a heart-healthy life, and reduce the chance of cardiovascular disease

    • Prevention of common fatal injuries in children and infants.

Our General Training classes can be setup to offer programming based on a variety of American Heart Association curriculum including Friends and Family and Heartsaver. Depending on the modules you choose to have us teach, their may be a written and practical test. Should a test be administered, participants will receive an American Heart Association course completion card. All participants will receive a Life Savers course completion certificate.
